This privately owned getaway in the Tankwa/Ceres Karoo is one of the greatest and more eccentric places in South Africa. This 1100 hectares of mountains and open plains, allows you the chance to find real peace in a very short space of time.

INTRODUCTION

Planet Karoo comprises of 4 very different lodgings and each not visible from the other. The Fort is the largest and boasts a pool, two braai facilities, three double rooms and the Ghekko Lounge which is perfect for children. The magical thing is that there is no TV.

The Villa Bronte is designed for two couples and has a large lounge and space to sleep kids on sleeper couch. It has indoor and out door braais and has unrivaled views across the Tankwa. It also has no TV.

The Gallery is an eccentric spot designed for one couple. It has a huge lounge and large dining area. It is a perfect spot to entertain friends booked into The Fort or Villa. It has a TV but needs a generator to power it, ruining the silence. We suggest you leave it off.

The Gazebo is 2km up the valley and is designed for the adventourist who really wants to get away completely. It sleeps four in one spacious room. Braai area and outside shower and loo with a view. Also has no TV.

The attractions are few and very real. The walks are great and range from very easy to very difficult. The choice is yours. The pool is great in the summer and the stars are extraordinary when the moon is not about. The silence is audible and sense of space you cannot miss.

It is the Greatest Place to either Find or Lose yourself.

Our neighbours have lion, rhino and a host of other animals and day trips can be arranged should you wish to do so.
